what do you see?

well it did come down, and blow into slight drifts, but then it's warmed up a lot and melted away again, along with some more of the old stuff. so, nothing to worry about!

Uh-oh...woke up this morning to...snow! Coming down steadily, a couple of inches of cover now. There was nothing forecast, not a surprise though, as weather here is pretty unpredictable. Let's hope it's not going to be another 6 footer!

Roads are all clear, the snow is dirty but still piled up and it's getting a little milder. No buds or anything like that yet though, although the cherry blossom is already out in some parts of Southern and Western Japan - it's that season again, with the special maps on the TV news showing the waves of pink spreading across Japan...

It rained! Big deal? Not for us, it hasn't been warm enough for that since November...around 5C today already, and the next hazard to contend with is upon us - some roads like rivers, the others are slushy mires...

Spring is coming...or is it? Hovering around zero in the day, freezing at night still, but getting lighter in the evenings. The snow is very dirty, and patchy on some hillsides now. But it's going to take a few more weeks for the 6 foot high mounds to melt away. Oh for the English spring!

PS - off to Shanghai in April...
